Autumn Brew Review…Reviewed

Before you know it, the warm weather is gone and the winter beers are here. But before all that happens, there is one last hurrah in the Twin Cities that has it’s final say and that is known as the Minnesota Craft Brewers Guild - Autumn Brew Review.

Ironically we got a little snow scare a few days ago but it was all melted by the end of the day and the weather for the beer fest was all but perfect to capture that fall feeling in the air.

Yesterday, the Minnesota Craft Brewers Guild held it’s 21st annual Autumn Brew Review at Boom Island Park overlooking downtown Minneapolis and it went off without a hitch!

Well except for the part that I have a slight hangover as I’m writing this…haha. Yes it’s true I’m not that huge partier like I was in the past…well I guess I wasn’t THAT big of a partier but I did have my time hanging out on Grand Avenue in St Paul back in the 2000’s so I guess that qualifies.

So there were breweries! There were food trucks! There were vendors and there were beer geeks and everyone had a great time! I ran into quite a few people I haven’t seen in a while which is always nice, mainly because I’ve been getting lazy recently and after the entire worldwide shutdown thing happened and I have fallen out of brewery practice. I had a chance to try beers from breweries I haven’t had a chance to go out to throughout the state and some from breweries that are right here in the Twin Cities.

The Minnesota Craft Brewers Guild knows how to run a good show, everything was organized great, all the booth sections were split up with nice spacing between the groupings and the atmosphere with fireplaces always add that fall feel to it all. I will say there maybe could have been another section of Biffys on the opposite side of the park cuz it seemed like everyone had to hit the head at the exact same time, or maybe its just an ongoing thing and I just saw lines when I walked to both biffy sections…I mean when you gotta go, you gotta go I guess haha.

So in review, the Autumn Brew Review is a beer fest everyone should attend at least once…or even a few times for that matter because it’s a great fall event at a perfect location with a great backdrop and an excellent amount of local breweries showcasing their fall beer line ups along with a great crowd that seems to show up year after year.

I’d also like to thank Bob Galligan for the invite and if you are interested in all the work and events the Minnesota Craft Brewers Guild do throughout the year, check out their website right here MN Craft Brewers Guild
