The Bird’s Nest

Hello everyone, after a short hiatus, I’m back to awe the masses with writing that you have never read before. Yes I’ve become slow on posts for the website because well, it takes a lot of time and I have to find something to write about that’s actually interesting. Ironically I have had stuff to write about and it totally went over my head to make a post about it….doh.

So a couple months ago I had the honor and privilege to attend Bago Bash 2023 in the wonderful town of Winnebago Minnesota. What is Bago Bash you ask? Well it’s a Breweriana collector show on the private property of one of the biggest collectors in the Hamm’s beer world of Minnesota.

And when I say one of the biggest collectors I should specify because the small town of Winnebago is actually home to TWO of the biggest Hamm’s beer memorabilia collectors; Stevan Miner and David Bullock.

If you are looking to buy a Hamm’s sign or even have yours repaired, Stevan is your guy because he runs the Hamm It Up! store in “downtown” Winnebago, check it out sometime. They don’t call him Dr Hamm’s for nothing!

The Bago Bash is held in David’s backyard where beer people come from far and wide to buy and sell beer related items you may or may not actually need 😉. Besides having an amazingly well run event with signs, parking and even a food vendor grilling up your favorite meats, the focal point of the show is the former pigeon coop on David’s property that has been converted into the ultimate man cave filled with every Hamm’s and associated Minnesota beer sign you can shake a stick at!

I’ve always heard stories of this place and for some reason never made it down to check it out until this year and all I can say is that it was definitely worth the drive.

I’m assuming after the turn out they had this year, the event will most likely continue on. If you aren’t part of the Hamm’s Beer group on facebook I would say join it now to find out about all the events that happen throughout the year.

So with that, that a look at the video I put together for the show and what the Bird’s Nest is all about.
