Old is Back in Style in LaCrosse

What’s old is new and what’s new has some style. You may be saying wait, what are you going on about again?

Well, what I’m trying to say is that after a 20 year hiatus, Old Style beer is coming back to La Crosse Wisconsin! Yes you read that right, the beer that made La Crosse famous is heading home!

Pabst, the parent company of Old Style and many other classics such as - Lone Star, Stag, and Old Milwaukee, have made the wise decision to switch production of one of the greatest beers alive, out of the Milwaukee production facility and bring it back to it’s birthplace of La Crosse!

If you don’t know already (which I’m sure you do) Old Style beer was originally brewed by the G. Heileman Brewing Company in La Crosse Wisconsin back in 1902 and continued until it’s sale to Stroh’s out of Detroit.

Stroh’s, among other brands, was bought by Pabst a few years later, who then ended up with the rights to the brand. After that, Pabst then had the beer contract brewed at the original Miller Brewing Company site in Milwaukee (confused yet?)

So fast forward to 2023 and the beer is heading back to La Crosse to be brewed at the City Brewery this coming November….yep.

So on top of that news, the World’s Largest Six Pack is getting a makeover too! Yes there will be an unveiling of the new look sometime during the famous La Crosse Oktoberfest celebration in September along with other “Welcome Back” events in town.

Things sure are feeling old again in the hometown of Old Style!
