Schell’s Brewery Possible Expansion

In a time where rumors are flying around that a big percentage of craft breweries may close due to the extended covid quarantines, Schell’s Brewery is looking towards the future.

Or wait I should have said “Schell’s has a target in place?” Or …”Schell’s has it’s eye on the target and it’s not letting up”. What Iam I talking about? Well there’s a vacant Target store in New Ulm and Schell’s thinks it’s a neat place to build a brewery, there.

No the original brewery will remain in it’s location but the Starkeller will relocate. If the deal does go through, there most likely will be fermentation tanks installed since there is virtually no room left at the OG Brewery.

Of course some work would need to be done at the former Target store like rezoning the property, adding more loading docks (which I assume all the truck drivers would love as compared to the 1860 style driveway they have now), rebuilding the floor to support the tanks and cutting some holes in the roof to allow tanks to extend.

This is a long needed move by Schell’s because they have using every square inch of the brewery to keep up with the production demand and the original location was never intended to be this extensive. I’ll post more as things develop.
