Closing Time …..
You don’t have to go home but you cant stay here…
Well it was almost predicted earlier in the week and it has now happened, Minnesota has temporarily shut down all bars and restaurants due to the coronavirus outbreak.
The Governor of Minnesota, Tim Walz just finished up a news conference and declared tonight will be the last night bars and restaurants will be open in Minnesota until the end of the month.
The good news is, drive thru’s can stay open in places like McDonalds and the glorious Taco Bell! Also liquor stores will be allowed to stay open during this time so there’s the best way to still stock up on beer. Most breweries were already going to close taprooms to the public so it wasn’t a big shock to the system for us beer geeks, but it will still hurt the regulars and the extra income breweries normally get during tap room hours.
The good thing for the workers is that the state has already set up an unemployment plan which can be started immediately without too much lost time and wages begin to hurt.
The projected reopening date for establishments is March 27th but we will see what happens since everything seems to change by the hour with this virus outbreak.
