A couple New Prague Spottings

Original Post June 2013

So I happened to be in New Prague today for work and it’s been years since the last time I was in town, so I decided before I left to hit main street and look for some type of beer signage.

Most old city’s are great for having classic beer advertisements still attached to most bars even though those beers are not the popular ones all the cool people are drinking now days but it’s makes me happy when I see them up there.

As predicted, there was a classic Schmidt sign and it was on the Pioneer Saloon, and they even had a wagon on the roof!

What was unexpected and was the a highlight was a very sweet Pabst Andeker sign at the City Club Bar down the street….

As I write this in 2020, the Andeker sign has been replaced with a pretty cool nod to Schmidt’s City Club Beer looking sign. I’m not sure what they did with the original but I hope they didn’t trash it because as we all know it’s worth some big time bucks.

Overall I give New Prague a 7 out of 10 for being a beer town. They had a few liquor stores and bars on the same street within blocks of each other. I was impressed. I guess if I lived there I would hope they would have that many liquor locations too haha.
